Haley is finishing up her senior year with FFA and is passionate about raising pigs. For her session, she wanted something a little country, so we suggested we take her senior portraits at Little G Farm. This was my first time shooting there, and Haley booked her session with us pretty quickly, so I didn’t get a chance to see the location before our shoot. I was feeling wary of the location, but once we got there and had a chance to look around, she and I both realized this would be a perfect place to make some rustic images that still had a feminine touch.
This place had a little bit of everything which is what made the shoot so unique. The lawn was neatly manicured but there was a patch of wildflowers and high grass set aside to make images that seemed like you were in a huge field of flowers. There was a wooden swing hanging from a beautiful aged tree that was positioned perfectly behind the setting sun. In the middle of the property is a small pond that, with the sunlight reflecting off the top of the water, made for some beautiful photos. Booking with Katie at Little G Farm was great. We were able to take care of it through her website and then just a simple phone call to get directions to her home. “Feel free to use any part of the property!” she had told me sweetly over the phone. Haley and I both felt comfortable and welcome immediately.
Haley was excited to have her pictures made, so she was very easy to photograph. We spent nearly two hours taking her senior portraits at Little G Farm, had several outfit changes, and tried nearly every location on site. I loved hearing about her sweet little pig (whose skin from front to back looks like an Oreo cookie! So adorable), and her plans for prom. She is planning to rush in the fall at OSU, so we took a headshot for her resume and application. Haley is so sweet and genuine about everything. She is the real deal. She said more than once, “This is so much fun!”
Thanks, girl. I had a blast with you, too!
